HR and payroll administration service provider Partena was considering a joint venture with a partner to implement and operate a digital service platform for an underserved market segment.
Challenging Assumptions
Rather than launching straight into extensive partnership negotiations, both parties worked with Peel to explore the assumptions about the new service concept and the target audience, which we then tested through a combination of market and field research.
Identifying the right investment opportunity
The research revealed a mismatch between the concept and the target audience but it also brought out their real needs, which allowed us to co-create, prototype and test a new concept. Next, we developed a business model, in which we found that Partena could build and manage the service largely on its own, without setting up a joint venture.
